| Harassment | Uninvited male company during solo night walks on Mall Road Solo women walking Mall Road after 9 PM are frequently approached by men offering company, directions, or 'local knowledge'. Behind Mall Road alleys, drug users and dealers are active. Police confirmed: 'Crooks catch you in dark alleys and try to sell cocaine and hash.' | Harassment | Night bus arrival at 3 AM : solo women left at dark stand Overnight Volvo buses frequently arrive at Manali 2–3 AM instead of promised 6–7 AM. Women left at a poorly-lit bus stand surrounded by touts and drug users. No auto/cab on meter at that hour. Multiple cases of men following women from the bus. Female travellers report finding unknown men in dorms at night. Always inspect room lock and locker on arrival and ask: 'Is this a female-only dorm with a separate key?'
