Women's basics
Pads, tampons, cups, period pain meds, intimate hygiene : by city, by chemist, by neighbourhood. Sourced from contributors who've actually been on their period in these places.
Available at every chemist and most kirana stores nationwide. ₹50–₹150 per pack. Ultra-thin, overnight, and panty-liner variants stocked everywhere except remote villages.
Metro cities only : Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, Goa. Apollo Pharmacy, Health & Glow, and Nature's Basket are the most reliable. Outside metros, bring a 1-month supply.
SheCup, Sirona, Pee Safe Imbue and Boondh are the easiest to find. Stocked at Apollo Pharmacy, Wellness Forever, and online via Amazon / Nykaa with same-day delivery in metros. Cup users : boil before and after each cycle.
Pee Safe (toilet seat sanitiser spray) is sold at every chemist and most petrol-pump convenience stores. Sirona intimate wash, V-Wash, and Clean & Dry stocked at any Health & Glow or Apollo.
Over the counter at any chemist. Carry a prescription for stronger NSAIDs if you have severe cramps. Heat patches (Sofy Antibac, EvaTouch) widely available in metro cities.
Yoga ashrams generally stock pads at reception in emergencies. Tampons are scarce : bring your own if you'll be here more than a week.
Tourist areas fully stocked. Ask for the women's section : sometimes shelved away from the main aisle.
Old City chemists are hit-or-miss for tampons. Stay near C-Scheme or Vaishali Nagar if supply matters.
Remote site. Pack a full cycle's worth before coming. Hospet town has one Apollo with limited stock.
Older parts of the city have fewer options. Lanka and Sigra are your reliable zones.
Best-stocked city in India for women's products. Cubbon Park area also reliable.
Off-season (Nov–Feb) supply gets thin. Bring extra. Higher altitude = heavier flow for some, plan accordingly.
Kerala chemists are well-stocked. Backwater stays : pack supplies, no shops nearby once you're on a houseboat.
