   The spiritual healer scam targets solo women specifically — a local befriends you and leads you to a 'healer' who reads your future and then demands large cash offerings. Politely decline any unsolicited spiritual introductions.

   Always dress modestly when entering temples: sarong and sash covering shoulders and waist are required and are available to borrow at every major temple entrance.

   Motorbike rental is the main way to travel outside Seminyak and Canggu, but accident rates are high — if you ride, wear a proper full-face helmet, stay left, and slow down significantly on wet roads.

   Choose your base by your travel style: Canggu and Seminyak are safe and walkable with Grab coverage; Ubud is calm and spiritual; Kuta is party-oriented and requires the most vigilance at night.
